Meet Your Neighbor: Kindle Reeder of The Wandering Fork

Kindle Lynn Reeder, owner and private chef of The Wandering Fork

Kindle Lynn Reeder is the owner and private chef behind The Wandering Fork, a private chef and catering business based in Garibaldi. In this Meet Your Neighbor spotlight, Kindle shares how years of hospitality work led her to the Oregon Coast, and the beach bonfire dinner that made her new business feel real.

A lot of hats, and one constant

Kindle has owned businesses, helped run others, worked in hospitality, and managed teams. She says she also spent plenty of time figuring out what she did and didn’t want her life to look like.

Through all of it, food and taking care of people stayed the same.

“I think The Wandering Fork is really a combination of everything I’ve learned along the way – hospitality, creativity, entrepreneurship, a love of food, and probably a healthy inability to sit still when I have an idea,” she says.

What the coast changed

Moving to the Oregon Coast changed a lot for Kindle.

“There’s something about life here that makes you slow down a little, pay attention to where you are, and appreciate the people you’re sharing it with,” she says.

The Wandering Fork has been open for less than a year, and Kindle says she is more intentional about this business than she has ever been before.

“I’m not interested in building something just for the sake of being busy. I want to build something that feels connected to this place, supports the community around me, and lets me be part of the memories people come to the Coast to make.”

A bonfire dinner in Neskowin

One of Kindle’s favorite moments came after a beach bonfire dinner she created in Neskowin. Everything was set up right on the beach: Dungeness crab, clam chowder in bread bowls, Oregon berry salad, s’mores, and hot cocoa. As she puts it, “the whole Oregon Coast experience.”

“It was one of those nights where I looked around and thought, ‘This is exactly what I wanted The Wandering Fork to be,'” she says.

Found through ChatGPT

Afterward, the client told Kindle she had originally found her by asking ChatGPT for a private chef on the Oregon Coast.

“That absolutely blew my mind,” Kindle says. “I was still building the business and working so hard to get my name out there, and somehow this little business I had created was already being recommended to someone looking for exactly what I offer.”

That dinner led to more connections and inquiries. Kindle says it was one of the first times she really felt the momentum building, and it reminded her that “you never quite know which dinner, post, conversation, or happy client is going to open the next door.”

More than dinner: coastal concierge services

Here’s something most people don’t know. The Wandering Fork isn’t just about private chef dinners. Kindle also offers coastal concierge services for vacation stays, including:

  • Fridge stocking
  • Meal prep
  • Welcome grazing boards
  • Packed lunches or sandwiches for a day of exploring

“The idea is really simple: you came to the Oregon Coast to enjoy it, not spend half your trip grocery shopping, cooking, or racing back before everything closes,” she says. “I love finding little ways to give people more time to actually wander.”

Now booking fall, holiday, and 2027 celebrations

Kindle is currently booking fall and holiday gatherings along the Oregon Coast, including:
